PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

AEROSHELLŽ Fluid 4

AEROSHELL Fluid 4 is a mineral hydraulic oil with low temperature characteristics that is capable of operating over a wide range of temperatures. This fluid is oxidation inhibited, and it contains a special antiwear additive. AEROSHELL Fluid 4 is dyed red for identification and leak detection purposes.

AEROSHELL Fluid 4 is an aircraft hydraulic fluid which meets the MIL-H-5606A (obsolete) specification requirements.

AEROSHELL Fluid 4 can be used in both aviation and non-aviation systems with synthetic rubber components, but should not be used in systems that incorporate natural rubber.

AEROSHELLŽ Greases

All AEROSHELL Greases, with the exception of AEROSHELL Grease 14 and AEROSHELL Grease 33, are formulated with MICROGELŽ thickener, a high temperature, non-melting inorganic thickener.

In aircraft applications, the type certificate and/or lubricants recommendation charts of each aircraft will usually specify the military specification for the grease to be used for the various lubrication points on that aircraft.

Applications of AEROSHELL Greases

AEROSHELL Grease 5: For wheel bearings and engine accessories that operate at high speeds and relatively high temperatures.

AEROSHELL Grease 6: General purpose airframe grease for use in plain and antifriction bearings and gearboxes. Provides good water resistance and has low noise capabilities.

AEROSHELL Grease 7: Wide temperature range, synthetic, multipurpose grease for highly loaded gears and actuator screw mechanisms. Also recommended for instruments and general airframe lubrication of turbine powered aircraft.

AEROSHELL Grease 14: Leading helicopter multipurpose grease. Thickened with calcium soap. Protects against fretting and provides ample water resistance. approved by the USDA for use in meat and poultry processing plants where there is no possible contact between lubricant and edible product.

AEROSHELL Grease 16: Wide temperature range grease recommended for antifriction bearings that operate under heavy load at high speeds and extreme temperatures.

AEROSHELL Grease 17: Extreme pressure version of AEROSHELL Grease 7. Contains 5 percent molybdenum disulfide for use in highly loaded conditions.

AEROSHELL Grease 22: Versatile synthetic hydrocarbon multipurpose grease. Excellent load carrying capacity. Useful temperature range of -85°F to 400°F.

AEROSHELL Grease 33: Developed to meet the stringent requirements of the BMS 3-33 specification for use on Boeing airframe components. It is formulated with a lithium complex thickener system in a synthetic base oil blend.

AEROSHELLŽ Oils

Aviation Grades 65, 80, 100 and 120

AEROSHELL Oils are straight mineral oils blended from selected high viscosity index base stocks. These products contain only an antioxidant and a pour point depressant for improved fluidity at cold temperatures.

These oils are used during break-in of most 4-stroke cycle certificated aviation piston engines. The duration and lubrication recommendations for break-in vary, so aircraft owners should refer to the original engine manufacturer and/or overhaul facility for specific recommendations.

AEROSHELL Oils are approved for all 4-stroke cycle certificated aircraft piston engines when use of an ashless dispersant (AD) oil is not required.

AEROSHELL Oils are available in Aviation Grades 65, 80, 100 and 120 (SAE equivalent Grades 30, 40, 50 and 60). AEROSHELL Oil 80 is USDA H2 approved for use in meat and poultry processing plants where there is no possible contact between lubricant and edible product.

All AEROSHELL Oils meet the requirements of MIL-L-6082E and SAE J-1966 specifications.

AEROSHELLŽ Oil W Single Grade OilsAviation Grades 65, 80, 100 and 120

AEROSHELL Oil W Single Grade Oils are premium ashless dispersant lubricating oils for 4-stroke cycle certificated aircraft piston engines . They have been proven in billions of engine hours around the world, including service in fuel-injected and turbocharged engines.

These widely accepted oils contain a carefully selected additive combination that produces high viscosity index, dispersancy, oxidation stability, and antifoam properties. These additives leave no metallic ash in combustion chambers.

AEROSHELL Oil W Single Grade Oils:

  • Promote engine cleanliness, help keep engines sludge free
  • Help reduce oil consumption
  • Help engines reach TBO
  • Protect highly stressed engine parts against scuffing and wear

AEROSHELL Oil W Single Grade Oils are available in Aviation Grades 65, 80, 100 and 120 (SAE equivalent Grades 30, 40, 50 and 60).

AEROSHELL Oil W 100 is approved by the USDA for H2 use in meat and poultry processing plants where there is no possible contact between lubricant and edible product.

AEROSHELL Oil W Single Grade Oils meet additive aircraft oil specifications, including Teledyne-Continental MHS-24A, Textron-Lycoming 301F and several service bulletins issued by Curtiss-Wright and Pratt & Whitney specifications. All grades meet the requirements of Mil-L-22851D and SAE J-1899 specifications.

    AEROSHELLŽ Oil W 15W-50 Multigrade

Anti-corrosion Antiwear AEROSHELL Oil W 15W-50 is an advanced formula semi-synthetic, ashless, highly dispersant multigrade oil for 4-stroke cycle certificated aircraft piston engines that offers an exceptionally broad viscosity grade range. While it is based on the same additive technology as AEROSHELL Oil W Single Grade Oils, it also provides excellent protection to engines operating at extreme ambient temperatures. The recently introduced anti-corrosion additive package helps protect low usage engines and engines in high humidity climates against rust and corrosion of such critical engine parts as camshafts and lifters. The antiwear additive system provides outstanding wear protection for camshafts, lifters and other wearing surfaces. Anti-corrosion Antiwear AEROSHELL Oil W 15W-50 is the only oil presently on the market which is qualified for use in Lycoming 0-320H series engines without the supplemental antiwear additive. It also meets the requirements of Lycoming service bulletins 446C and 471, Lycoming Service Instruction 1409 and FAA Airworthiness Directive 80-04-03.

This premium quality oil contains over 50% synthetic base stocks to insure excellent low temperature flow to speed cold starts while lubricating and protecting critical engine parts during warm up; yet, at high temperatures, it offers engine protection that is superior to a Grade 100 (SAE 50 oil). (Aircraft engines should be preheated as per manufacturer's instructions.) In addition, the oil contains a significant amount of mineral oil base stocks which insure that the oil will absorb the lead by-products of combustion associated with the use of leaded aviation gasoline.

    Anti-corrosion Antiwear AEROSHELL Oil W 15W-50 Multigrade:

  • Provides unsurpassed rust and corrosion protection for aircraft engines.
  • Promotes engine cleanliness, fights wear, offers excellent antifoam properties.
  • Helps reduce oil consumption by up to 50% and provides superior oil flow at low temperatures.
  • It is compatible with other approved aircraft piston engine oils.
  • Functions as an all season oil; no seasonal changes needed.
  • Reduces fuel consumption by up to 5% over straight grades.
  • Provides unequaled high temperature oxidation stability.

Anti-corrosion Antiwear AEROSHELL Oil W 15W-50 is approved by Teledyne-Continental and Textron-Lycoming (specifications MHS-24A and 301-F, respectively). It is also recommended for use by Cessna in several of its models, as well as for use in Pratt & Whitney radial piston engines.

Antiwear AEROSHELL Oil W 15W-50 meets the requirements of MIL-L-22851D and SAE J-1899 specifications.

Anticorrosion-Antiwear AEROSHELLŽ Oil W 15W-50 is approved by the USDA for H2 use in meat and poultry processing plants where there is no possible contact between lubricant and edible product.
