Shell DONAX® TC & TD Transmission Fluid

Shell DONAX Transmission Fluids are premium oils for automotive transmissions and hydraulic systems. These products are designed to provide:

  • Proper frictional characteristics
  • High thermal and oxidation stability
  • Ample protection against rusting
  • Protection against wear
  • High dispersancy
  • Excellent antifoam properties
  • Correct viscosity at operating temperatures
  • Good seal compatibility

    Shell DONAX TC Oils are formulated to meet Caterpillar's latest TO 4 specification. They are available in three SAE viscosity grades: 10W, 30 and 50. DONAX TC, in the specified grade, meets the needs of powershift transmission, clutches, brakes, final drives and hydraulic systems. The 10W and 30 grades are also approved against the Allison C-4 specification.

    Shell DONAX TC Oils provide proper frictional requirements, low temperature performance, high thermal and oxidation stability, dispersancy, protection from wear and rust and antifoaming properties.

    Shell DONAX TD is an SAE 15W-30 transmission, gear and hydraulic fluid recommended for most makes of farm tractors and implements, including models that use hydraulically actuated wet brakes. It is a universal tractor hydraulic fluid that meets service fill performance requirements of John Deere, Ford, International Harvester (IHC)*, Allis-Chalmers, J. I. Case and Massey Ferguson. It is also an approved Allison Type C-4 and Caterpillar TO-2 fluid. DONAX TD has application in virtually all makes of farm tractor and implement transmissions, differentials, wet brakes, power take-offs, hydraulic systems, etc.

    NOTE: Shell DONAX TD has performed satisfactorily in applications where Hy-Tran Fluid is recommended but is not officially approved by IHC. On the basis of its proven field performance, Shell recommends DONAX TD in IHC equipment where Hy-Tran Fluid is specified.

    Shell OMALA® Gear Oils

    ISO Grades 68, 100, 150, 220, 320, 460 and 680

    Shell OMALA Gear Oils protect and help extend the service life of a wide variety of enclosed industrial gearing, including spur, bevel, herringbone and many worm gears.

    These premium quality oils are formulated with high viscosity index oils and a sulfur/phosphorus extreme pressure additive package which contains no lead.

    Shell OMALA Gear Oils:

  • Protect gears against scuffing and wear
  • Combat oil thickening and deterioration for long service life
  • Possess good adhesion properties
  • Are non-corrosive to bronze and bearing alloys
  • Provide excellent rust prevention and water separation properties

    Lighter grades of OMALA Oils are well suited for use in oil mist lubrication systems, due to their good mistability, excellent recovery, and thermal/oxidation stability.

    Shell OMALA Oils are industrial gear oils and are not intended for automotive use.

    Shell RIMULA® Oils

    SAE 10W, 30, and 40

    Shell RIMULA Oils are premium heavy duty API CD-plus, and CF diesel engine oils for severe service conditions. These oils are ideal for off-highway diesel powered fleets.

    Offer high alkalinity (TBN-E 12.0) to neutralize wear-causing products of combustion longer than ordinary API CD oils.

  • Provide an extra measure of protection where fuel sulfur levels are high, or when oil drain intervals must occasionally be extended.
  • Have excellent high-temperature dispersancy as well as antiwear action and oxidation resistance.
  • Help promote long engine life.
  • Are recommended for Caterpillar 3600 Series engines.

    Shell RIMULA Oils have been a top quality oil brand for Caterpillar engines for over 45 years. They can also be used as transmission oils. They meet the requirements of Caterpillar's TO-2 test, and both 10W and 30 grades are approved under the Allison C-4 specification. They are also suitable for equipment hydraulic systems where engine oils are specified.

    Shell RIMULA Oils meet the performance requirements of API CF, CD-plus and CC (obsolete) for diesels, SD and SE for gasoline engines and MIL-L-2104C (obsolete).

    Shell ROTELLA® T Single Grade Oils

    SAE 10W, 20W-20, 30, 40, and 50

    Shell ROTELLA T single Grade Oils have been performance proven in diesel and mixed diesel/gasoline on-highway truck fleets for over 3 billion miles. These engine oils satisfy a wide range of heavy duty diesel manufacturers' specifications of Detroit Diesel to the high detergency requirements of Caterpillar.

    Shell ROTELLA T Single Grade Oils surpass the performance requirements of MIL-L-2104F. The SAE 10W, 20W-20 and 30 grades meet API Service Classifications CF-4/SH, CE, CD and SG. The SAE 30 grade also meets API Service Classification CF-2 and CD-II. The SAE 40 and 50 grades meet API Service Classifications CF, CF-2, (CD, CD-II - obsolete), SH and SG.

    These oils also meet the powershift transmission requirements of Caterpillar TO-2, and both SAE 10W and 30 grades are Allison C-4 approved.

    Shell ROTELLA® T Multigrade Oils with XLA

    SAE 15W-40 and 10W-30

    Shell ROTELLA T Multigrade SAE 15W-40 has been Shell's premium quality, heavy duty multigrade oil for all-season use by fleets with diesel power or a mix of gasoline and diesel power for the past 25 years. During that time, it has become the best selling multigrade heavy duty truck oil in the U.S. Now this product is available with XLA (Extended Life Additive) to provide improved deposit control and improved oxidation stability.

    This same premium multigrade oil is available in SAE 10W-30 grade to provide even better low temperature performance, and to satisfy the demands of engine builders who recommend lower viscosity oils.

    Both viscosity grades of ROTELLA T Multigrade Oil with XLA surpass the performance requirements of API CG-4, CF-4, CF, CE, CD (obsolete),, CC (obsolete), SH, and SG service classifications. They are both Mack EO-L approved and of MIL-L-46152E (obsolete) quality. The 15W-40 grade meets the requirements of the API CF 2 and CD II Service Classifications and MIL-L-2104F.

    Shell ROTELLA T Multigrade Oils with XLA:

  • Exceed performance requirements of all of today's severe high performance, fuel efficient, low emission diesel and gasoline engines
  • Offer superior engine protection
  • Flow at cold temperatures to help speed cold starts
  • Reduce fuel and oil consumption compared to an SAE 30 viscosity oil

    For gasoline engine applications, the 15W-40 grade is an API Energy Conserving oil and the 10W-30 grade meets the API Energy Conserving II requirements. The 10W-30 grade also meets the new ILSAC GF-1 performance standard. Both oils meet the performance requirements of Allison C-4.

    Shell TELLUS® Oils

    ISO Grades 22, 32, 46, 68, and 100

    Shell TELLUS Oils are antiwear hydraulic oils designed to give long service in high output hydraulic systems that use vane, piston or gear pumps. These oils help stretch oil and pump life in extended heavy duty service with their balance of excellent properties. Since they contain a zinc dithiophosphate antiwear agent, they should not be used in specialized pumps with silver plated bearing surfaces.

    Shell TELLUS Oils are blended with specially selected paraffinic HVI base oils and incorporate a proprietary additive that is a leader in keeping systems clean. Shell TELLUS Oil technology is also a pioneer accomplishment because it is not adversely affected by small amounts of water. TELLUS Oil with this technology, was among the first anti-wear hydraulic oils to be approved under the Dennison HF-0 specification.

    Shell TELLUS Oils:

  • Have excellent filterability and antiwear activity
  • Are non corrosive to brass, bronze, steel and copper
  • Possess oxidation stability for long system oil life
  • Have low pour points
  • Provide good demulsibility

    Shell TELLUS Oils meet all requirements of major pump manufacturers that do not prohibit the use of zinc additives. They also meet the appropriate Cincinnati Milacron requirements. P-65 (TELLUS 32); P-70 (TELLUS 46); P-69 (TELLUS 68).

    All TELLUS Oils are approved by the USDA for H2 use in meat and poultry processing plants where there is no possible contact between lubricant and edible product.

    Shell TELLUS T Oils 15, 22 and 32 also meet a dielectric strength specification of minimum 25 KV, making them suitable for use in high voltage electric service vehicles.
