Shell CAPRINUS U Multigrade Oils are premium quality, multigrade diesel engine oils for use in medium speed railroad, marine or stationary power engine applications. They combine the proven performance of the CAPRINUS additive chemistry with Shell multigrade heavy duty engine oil technology.
Shell CAPRINUS U Multigrade Oils are available at two additive treatment levels: Shell CAPRINUS U 20W-40 at 13 TBN and Shell CAPRINUS UE 20W-40 at 17 TBN. Both SAE 20W-40 Oils provide the unique performance benefits of reduced engine fuel and oil consumption and, in severe applications, longer oil drain intervals through control of used oil viscosity increase. The multigrade oils can also provide improved cold starting, with better lubrication and oil flow at lower temperatures and during engine warm up.
The higher TBN level of the CAPRINUS UE 20W-40 can provide additional engine protection where higher sulfur fuels may be encountered. Both oils exceed the API CD performance requirements. This broadens their applications, especially in marine service where they may be used in both main engines and many auxiliary engines.
Shell CAPRINUS U 20W-40 and Shell CAPRINUS UE 20W-40, LMOA Generation 5 Performance Oils, are approved by General Electric as Generation 4 Long Life Oils They are also classified in the "Extended Use" category by the EMD division of General Motors. They are recommended for use in many other medium speed diesel engines.

Shell CAPRINUS U Oil 40 is Shell's premium quality single grade diesel oil for use in modern, medium speed railroad, marine and stationary power engine applications.
Shell CAPRINUS U Oil 40 is a zinc free oil (less than 10 ppm) with unique frictional properties and outstanding API CD performance. Its MVI base stocks help CAPRINUS U Oil 40 maintain engine cleanliness and reduces build-up of carbon deposits. The additive system contributes high dispersancy and excellent alkalinity retention to the oil.

Shell CAPRINUS U Oil 40, an LMOA Generation 5 Performance Oil, is approved by General Electric as a Generation 4 Long Life Oil. It is also classified in the "Extended Use" category by the EMD division of General Motors. Caprinus U Oil 40 is also recommended for ALCO and Fairbanks-Morse engines. In marine applications, Caprinus U Oil 40 can be used in both main propulsion engines and in many auxiliaries.

Shell NAUTILUS 2-Cycle Outboard Marine Oil meets the requirements of Chrysler, Evinrude, Force, Johnson, Mariner, Mercury, OMC, Sears, Suzuki and Yamaha engines. Other gasoline powered 2-cycle applications such as lawn mowers, chain saws, motorcycles, snow blowers and snowmobiles can benefit from the use of NAUTILUS 2-Cycle Outboard Marine Oil, which is suitable for use in both mixed oil/fuel systems and direct injection engines.
